place后省略where/in which不够标准、规范，但现实英语中并不少见。
先看两个实例：
1. 这是ChristToday于2015年的一个句子：
Think about the place you live.
2. 这是CsMonitor于2014年的一个句子：
someone with no connection to the place you live, he says.
此外，在博客、论坛这种文风比较随意的语境，这种表达方式更为常见。
再从语法上说，引导定语从句的where、when、why可以用that替换，这是that用作副词引导定语从句的用法，这个that可以省略。
