第一步：孤词层面

语言学家Gass于1988年第一次提出这个模型，1997年和Selinker一起完善。Input-Interaction-Output (IIO) model，从输入到输出，从听说到读写。一共五个阶段：被觉察到的语言输入（新信息）——被理解的语言输入（理解）——内化吸收（深刻理解）——融入/整合（以备输出）——输出。
